Model Router
One model for everything, or the best of every model.
Every model is the best at one kind of work. The Model Router sends each step of a task to the model that does it best, hands it everything done so far, and checks the result before the next model takes over.
Tasks from the AI teammates pass through the Model Router, which routes each one along a dotted line to one of twelve models: GPT for drafting and planning, DeepSeek for summaries, Qwen for extraction, Fable for specs, Gemini for images, GLM for translation, Astra for hard planning, Llama for cleanup, Sonnet for testing, Opus for review, Mistral for tagging and Grok for research. Each result passes a check gate marked Checked before it reaches a box marked Finished work, done and shipped. One long build fails its check at Sonnet and is moved to Opus, where it passes. Illustrative routing, not a benchmark.

What it costs
The same build, three prices.
The Northwick Candle Co. build: a storefront, a shopping agent, and eighteen systems behind them, 2,318 AI tasks in all. On Fable alone, it costs $468.96. On Opus alone, $189.52. With the Model Router giving each task to the model that does it best, $110.22, including the 5% fee.
76% less than one model for everything. On the code alone, 87% less: $187.60 on one model, $24.99 with the Router. The spec line costs the same either way, because the spec goes to the best model in both cases. Every other line falls.
Up to 90% less, and the work is better for the same reason: every task went to the model that does it best.

Questions before you start
What does it cost?
Model usage at the provider's price, plus 5%. That is the only fee. Ten dollars of model usage is fifty cents to ZB Stack, $10.50 in all. Hosting is passed through at cost.
Do I need my ChatGPT or Claude subscription?
No. Subscriptions do not connect to anything outside their own app. If you have an API key with a provider, bring it and your usage on that provider is billed to you directly, with the same 5%.
Which models?
Twelve on the board today, from nine companies, and hundreds reachable behind them. The board changes when a model does a job better or cheaper.
Can I choose the model myself?
Yes, on any task. Most people never do.
Is my balance a subscription?
No. It is money you put in and spend on model usage. Nothing is charged until a task runs.
Who owns what gets built?
You do. The code, the data, the systems, the whole cap table.
